File/Open

Provides a standard Windows dialog box for the selection of a data log file (*.log). Currently, only flow rate data log files will be processed and graphed, other IFT2000 *.log files or non-IFT2000 *.log files will not be graphed, and will present an error message to the user.

No other File/... options will be available until a data file has been successfully opened.

Once the data file has been opened, the flow rate data will be presented graphically on the display with a default (and minimum) Time axis of 10 minutes, and a default Flow axis which is based on the average flow rate as determined from the last average flow rate reported in the data file. The Flow axis default is called 'Average Flow, Centered, Fitted', which indicates that the average flow value will be centered on the Y-axis as best as possible, and the maximum and minimum scale values will be dependant on 'fitting' the worst case flow values on the graph.

Along with the actual graph, the following data is also presented on the screen: Maximum flow data value, Minimum flow data value, Set Rate, Total Time of the test data in the file (minutes) and the Number of Points in the data file.

The options available while in the Data Log Graph form are:

Time Window < > : This changes the window of displayed data to the next (>) or previous (<) block of data, based on the current Time Scale. For instance, if the Time Scale is set to show 30 minutes of data starting at time zero, the Time Window next button (>) will change the displayed data to begin at time 30 minutes and ending at 60 minutes.

Flow Scale: The default Flow Scale on entering the Data Log Graph form is 'Average Flow, Centered, Fitted', as previously described. The other options are 'Average Flow, +/-20%', 'Average Flow, +/-50%', and 'Average Flow, +/-100%' sequentially.

Time Scale < > : The Time Scale defines the number of minutes of data that will be presented on the graph. The default value is 10 minutes, and increase by 10 minutes with each press of the Time Scale > button, to a maximun of 60 minutes. The Time Scale decreases by 10 minutes with each press of the Time Scale < button, to a minimum of 10 minutes.

Default: Returns the graph to the format used when data is first loaded into the Data Log Graph form.

Set Rate: Allows the user to define a new Set Rate value, indicating the rate to which the pump under test was actually set. The Set Rate is initially derived from the actual value of the average rate at the end of the data log file, rounded off to the nearest integer value. The Set Rate value affects what will be reported if the graph is saved to a file or printed, and affects the Trumpet Graph calculations.

Flow Off/On: When a data file is first loaded, the instantaneous flow data values are plotted on the screen in yellow. These data points may be removed from the graph by pressing the Flow Off button. When the instantaneous Flow data is NOT on the screen, the button toggles to the Flow On state, indicating that pressing the button will turn the display of the instantaneous Flow data back on.

Vol Off/On: Performs the same function as the Flow Off/On button for the Volume graph data plot (red).

Exit: Closes the Data Log Graph form and returns to the Main screen.

File/Save Graph as Image

The current graph displayed on the screen will be saved to a file in one of the following graphics formats: BMP, WMF or JPEG.

File/Trumpet Graph

To create a Trumpet Graph from a Flow Rate data log, there must be at least 60 minutes of data. If this criteria is met, a form will be presented to allow the user to select the calculation window (in 60 minute increments) and the start time (in 30 minute increments). The calculation window is the time window over which the calculations for the trumpet graph will be made, beginning at the start time. The defaults for each of these is 60 minutes, if this is possible.

The user can also select the interpolation interval used to re-create evenly spaced data from the un-evenly spaced data downloaded from the Infutest.

After selecting the desired calculation window and start time, the trumpet graph calculations are performed and the Trumpet Graph form displayed. The graph contains textual presentation of the Set Rate, Average Rate, %Error, analysis period, and the beginning and ending time. In addition, the values for the Maximum and Minimum percent error and ml/hr error, based on the Set Rate, for each of the time intervals required by the IEC standard 601-2-24, Part 2, particular requirements for safety of infusion pumps and controllers (2, 5, 11, 19 and 31 minutes).

The options available while in the Trumpet Graph form are:

Set Rate: allows the user to overide the rate that was assigned based on the information in the data log, or set in the flow rate graph form. When a new Set Rate is assigned, the Trumpet Graph is re-calculated based on the new value.

New Data: Presents the 'Calculation Window and Start Point' form to allow selection of a new calculation window, start time, and interplation interval.

Scale: Changes the scale from the default value of +/-15% to +/-30%, +/-45% and +/-60% sequentially.

Print: Prints the current Trumpet Graph to the current Windows default printer. The user has the option of printing in Portrait or Landscape mode on the paper. The complete Trumpet Graph data and graph are printed.

Save: Provides the option of saving the current Trumpet Graph form, as displayed (without the control buttons), to a graphics file in BMP, WMF or JPEG format.

Exit: Closes the Trumpet Graph form and returns to the Data Log Graph form.

File/Print Screen

Prints the current Data Log Graph form to the current Windows default printer. The user has the option of printing in Portrait or Landscape mode on the paper. The complete Flow Rate Graph data and graph are printed.
